Who we are
The Dutch Fabrication Company (dutch-fabrication.nl) makes 3D prints to order in the Netherlands. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page. Questions or requests about your data can be sent to info@dutch-fabrication.nl.
Postal address: Julianalaan 90, 2628 BJ Delft, the Netherlands.
What we collect and why
- Your account: name, email address and password (stored encrypted) so you can sign in, see past orders and order again.
- Signing in with Google: if you choose this, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We do not get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- Orders: billing and shipping address, phone number, what you ordered and what you paid, so we can make, ship and invoice your order.
- 3D models you upload for a quote: the file and your print settings are sent to our quote server to calculate the price. The file is deleted from the quote server as soon as the price is calculated. Files that are part of an order are kept until the order is finished.
- Payments: card and other payment details are entered with our payment provider and are not stored by us. We only see the payment result and, for cards, the last four digits.
- Website use: like most websites, our servers log technical data such as your IP address and browser, and we use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your cart. We also count page visits with privacy-friendly statistics.
We use this data to carry out the contract with you (your order and account), to meet legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and for our legitimate interest in running a secure website. We do not sell your data and do not send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run the shop, each under their own privacy terms:
- WordPress.com (Automattic), which hosts this website, including WooCommerce, Jetpack and Akismet spam filtering.
- WooPayments and Stripe, which process payments.
- Hetzner (Germany), which hosts our quote server.
- Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
- The shipping company that delivers your order, which receives your name, address and contact details.
Some of these companies may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they use safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it.
- Orders and invoices are kept for 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
- Uploaded models used only for a quote are deleted straight away.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. You can update most details yourself under My account. Email us for anything else and we will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
